Active Mining Exploration Leases on the Dorrigo Plateau
Click here to read of our concerns should active mining come to the Dorrigo Plateau. These concerns include risks to the water catchments and public health, community life, roads, agriculture, tourism, land values and biodiversity.
Click here to see details of these exploration leases, including maps of the relevant areas. The Dorrigo Environment Watch website contains details that have been gathered over several years of their efforts to document proposed changes to this land; a land that abounds in natural beauty, prime agricultural land, threatened species and so many other valuable assets.
Although these areas are "only under Exploration Licenses" at this point, the mining company has been advising the shareholders and the ASX of the potential of this type of gold deposit in the Blicks Project and the potential for antimony and other minerals in the other projects on the Dorrigo Plateau. As with so many projects across NSW we want to make sure that appropriate consideration is given to the other values that abound in this area and make mining an inappropriate land use.
